A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Docmost up to 0.80.0. This issue affects an unknown function of the component Avatar Cleanup. The manipulation of the argument avatarUrl with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Docmost is open-source collaborative wiki and documentation software. Prior to 0.80.1, authenticated users can store attacker-controlled avatarUrl values that are later reused by avatar cleanup without confinement to the intended directory on local-storage deployments. A low-privileged user can cause deletion of arbitrary local files or directories reachable by the Docmost service account. This issue is fixed in version 0.80.1.
