Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, has been found in Linux Kernel (version unknown). This issue affects an unknown function of the component ethosu. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel: ethosu: Ensure cmd stream ends with a stop op While the QSIZE register setting should prevent an out of bounds access of the command stream, it is not clear whether the h/w generates an interrupt in this case as is required (to prevent a timeout). As a stop op is expected end of the command stream, let's just ensure it is present. A stop op in the middle of the command stream also makes no sense.
It is possible to read the advisory at git.kernel.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-97913 since 09/25/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are necessary for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
