Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in InvoicePlane up to 1.7.1. Affected is the function Payments::delete/Recurring::delete/User_clients::delete of the component Delete Methods. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-352. The web application does not, or can not, sufficiently verify whether a well-formed, valid, consistent request was intentionally provided by the user who submitted the request. This is going to have an impact on integrity. CVE summarizes:
InvoicePlane is a self-hosted open source application for managing invoices, clients, and payments. Prior to 1.7.2, InvoicePlane omits ensure_valid_post_request() from delete methods including Payments::delete(), Recurring::delete(), and User_clients::delete(). Although the routes require POST, they do not validate the request's CSRF token. An attacker can submit a cross-origin form through an authenticated administrator's browser to delete financial records and other application data. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.2.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-85289 since 09/03/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy.
