Details
A vulnerability has been found in RabbitMQ up to 4.3.4 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the component Topic Matcher. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a resource consumption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-400. The product does not properly control the allocation and maintenance of a limited resource, thereby enabling an actor to influence the amount of resources consumed, eventually leading to the exhaustion of available resources. As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 4.3.5, an authenticated user who can bind a queue to a topic exchange and publish to it can use consecutive # segments in a binding key to make both topic matchers revisit the same trie-node and routing-key-suffix states without memoization. The matcher materializes duplicate destinations before deduplication, causing combinatorial CPU work and memory pressure that can disrupt routing for all tenants. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.3.5.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-67419 since 07/29/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1499.
Upgrading to version 4.3.5 eliminates this vulnerability.
