Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in siyuan-note SiYuan up to 3.8.3. Affected is an unknown code block of the component CheckoutRepo Endpoint. The manipulation of the argument sessionID with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SiYuan versions before v3.8.4 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the checkoutRepo endpoint that allows authenticated administrators to write JSON files outside the workspace. Attackers can supply a sessionID parameter containing directory traversal sequences to overwrite arbitrary JSON files in pre-existing kernel-writable directories outside workspace boundaries.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-100637 since 09/26/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
