A vulnerability was found in Publicwarehouse LightBlog 9.6. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code of the file view_member.php. The manipulation of the argument username with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in view_member.php in Public Warehouse LightBlog 9.6 allows remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) in the username parameter.
The weakness was shared 02/20/2008 (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-0840 since 02/20/2008. An attack has to be approached locally.
