Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Eclipse ThreadX up to 6.5.1.202602a_rel. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code of the component Event Trace. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. As an impact it is known to affect integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Attacker model / Preconditions: a loaded `TXM_MODULE_USER_MODE | TXM_MODULE_MEMORY_PROTECTION` module issuing kernel dispatch calls, on a build with `TX_ENABLE_EVENT_TRACE`. A user-mode, memory-protected module can register an arbitrary function pointer as the global trace-full callback. The kernel calls it directly — no validation, no trampoline — from privileged kernel code when the trace buffer wraps. An invalid pointer faults the kernel (DoS). A pointer into the module's own code was observed running with kernel privilege (`CONTROL.nPRIV = 0`), confirmed at runtime with a register capture inside that code.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-102710 since 09/29/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
