CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in metatool-ai MetaMCP up to 2.4.22. It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function getSession of the file session-lifetime-manager.ts of the component Session Store. The manipulation of the argument mcp-session-id with an unknown input leads to a resource injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-99. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not restrict or incorrectly restricts the input before it is used as an identifier for a resource that may be outside the intended sphere of control. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

metatool-ai MetaMCP through 2.4.22 contains an insecure direct object reference (IDOR) in the MCP transport session dispatch. The session store (getSession in session-lifetime-manager.ts) is keyed only by the client-supplied mcp-session-id header with no owner, namespace, or endpoint binding, and the per-endpoint authorization middleware validates only the URL endpoint's owner, never the session. An attacker who supplies another tenant's session id " obtained without authentication from GET /metamcp/health/sessions, which discloses active session IDs and namespace UUIDs " can list and execute the victim tenant's private MCP tools and exfiltrate their data using the victim's forwarded credentials.

The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-79537 since 08/25/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 09/29/2026).

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
