Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, has been found in NVIDIA Virtual GPU Manager (version now known). This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Kernel Mode Layer. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a integer overflow vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-190. The product performs a calculation that can produce an integer overflow or wraparound, when the logic assumes that the resulting value will always be larger than the original value. This can introduce other weaknesses when the calculation is used for resource management or execution control. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
NVIDIA vGPU Virtual GPU Manager for Linux contains a vulnerability in the kernel mode layer where an attacker could cause an incorrect numeric conversion. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, and data tampering.
The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-47539 since 05/19/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. Additional levels of successful authentication are needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 09/30/2026).
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
