Details
A vulnerability was found in Quenary Tugtainer up to 1.30.2. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file /auth/oidc/login of the component OIDC Login. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper authorization vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-285. The product does not perform or incorrectly performs an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Tugtainer is a self-hosted app for automating updates of Docker containers. Prior to version 1.30.3, Tugtainer's OIDC authentication can still be initiated even when OIDC_ENABLED=false. The /auth/oidc/enabled endpoint correctly reports that OIDC is disabled. However, a direct request to /auth/oidc/login still starts the OIDC login flow, returns HTTP 302, sets an oidc_state cookie, and redirects the user to the configured OIDC authorization endpoint. This bypasses the intended OIDC disable switch. This issue has been patched in version 1.30.3.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-55181 since 06/16/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1548.002 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
Upgrading to version 1.30.3 eliminates this vulnerability.
