Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Meta Platforms Meta Horizon OS and classified as very critical. This issue affects an unknown code block of the component OVRMediaService. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a communication channel to intended endpoints vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-923. The product establishes a communication channel to (or from) an endpoint for privileged or protected operations, but it does not properly ensure that it is communicating with the correct endpoint. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

Prior to v66.0.0.733.524 of Meta Horizon OS, OVRMediaService could be induced to send a privileged PendingIntent including a com.oculus.horizon CallerIdentity to an arbitrary application registering for com.oculus.systemactivities.SCREENSHOT via a broadcast receiver. That would allow the application to impersonate the com.oculus.horizon package towards any endpoint within the OS that uses CallerIdentity authentication.
