Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in DiviEngine Divi Membership Plugin up to 2.2.0. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function dmem_form_submit_handler of the component Registration Form. The manipulation of the argument form_id with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

The Divi Membership plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in versions up to, and including, 2.2.0. This is due to the `dmem_form_submit_handler()` function determining the new user's role by iterating all WordPress roles and calling `password_verify()` against an attacker-controlled bcrypt hash supplied in the `form_id` POST parameter, with no validation or whitelist of allowed roles. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to register a new account with the administrator role by submitting a locally computed bcrypt hash of `administrator` as `form_id`, and when `auto_login=on` is submitted, be immediately authenticated as that administrator in the same request, resulting in full site takeover. Exploitation requires a WordPress nonce, but that nonce is publicly emitted on any page rendering the Divi Membership registration form and is therefore obtainable by any unauthenticated visitor.

The advisory is shared at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-19652 since 08/12/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 10/02/2026). MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
