Details
A vulnerability was found in Mitel MiVoice Office 400 11.0.96.0. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-94. The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
DigitalCanion has discovered a vulnerability that allows an attacker to cause the system to load an attacker-controlled .so file instead of the expected legitimate module. The loading mechanism relies on a predictable module name without adequately verifying the file’s origin or integrity. A malicious shared object using the expected name can therefore be loaded by a privileged process. The module code then executes within the context and privileges of that process. This results in arbitrary code execution and full compromise of the Mitel Linux virtual machine.
The advisory is shared at digitalcanion.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-104809 since 10/02/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 10/05/2026). MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059 for this issue.
It is declared as proof-of-concept.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
