Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in makeplane Plane up to 1.3.x. Affected is an unknown function. The manipulation of the argument estimate_id/issue_id with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Plane is an open-source project management tool. Prior to 1.4.0, two endpoint families fail to verify that nested resource identifiers belong to the workspace and project named in the URL. An authenticated user can read or modify estimates from another workspace through PATCH /api/workspaces/{slug}/projects/{project_id}/estimates/{estimate_id}/, and can inject comments into an issue from another workspace through POST /api/workspaces/{slug}/projects/{project_id}/issues/{issue_id}/comments/. ProjectEntityPermission verifies membership in the workspace and project from the URL, but estimate_id and issue_id are fetched by primary key without confirming the same scope. The list, retrieve, and destroy handlers correctly scope their queries, demonstrating the inconsistency. This issue is fixed in 1.4.0.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-104966 since 10/02/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
Upgrading to version 1.4.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
