Details
A vulnerability was found in makeplane Plane up to 1.3.x. It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown functionality of the file apps/api/plane/app/serializers/webhook.py of the component Webhook. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a dns rebinding vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-350. The product performs reverse DNS resolution on an IP address to obtain the hostname and make a security decision, but it does not properly ensure that the IP address is truly associated with the hostname. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Plane is an open-source project management tool. Prior to 1.4.0, the fix for CVE-2026-30242 validates webhook IP addresses only when the webhook is created in apps/api/plane/app/serializers/webhook.py. The delivery task in apps/api/plane/bgtasks/webhook_task.py performs a separate DNS resolution when sending the request and does not validate the resolved IP address, allowing DNS rebinding to bypass the SSRF protection. This issue is fixed in 1.4.0.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-104973 since 10/02/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1583.002 for this issue.
