Details
A vulnerability was found in Makeplane Plane up to 1.3.x. It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown code of the file setup.sh of the component AIO/CLI Community Deployments. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a hard-coded credentials vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-798. The product contains hard-coded credentials, such as a password or cryptographic key, which it uses for its own inbound authentication, outbound communication to external components, or encryption of internal data. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Plane is an open-source project management tool. Prior to 1.4.0, the deployments/aio/community/ and deployments/cli/community/ manifests provide fixed, publicly known SECRET_KEY and LIVE_SERVER_SECRET_KEY defaults that remain active when operators do not override them. The top-level setup.sh randomizes secrets only for the development Docker Compose path, leaving unchanged aio and cli community deployments with shared production secrets. Knowledge of SECRET_KEY enables attackers to forge Django-signed values and compromise accounts or sessions. Knowledge of LIVE_SERVER_SECRET_KEY bypasses live-service authentication on unchanged community deployments. This issue is fixed in 1.4.0.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-105641 since 10/05/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1110.001 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
