CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.12.111/6.18.53/7.2.7/7.3-rc3. It has been declared as very critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function btintel_pcie_submit_rx of the component btintel_pcie. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a off-by-one vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-193. A product calculates or uses an incorrect maximum or minimum value that is 1 more, or 1 less, than the correct value. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: fix off-by-one bounds check in RX submit btintel_pcie_submit_rx() used frbd_index > rxq->count to guard the FRBD array access, allowing frbd_index == rxq->count to pass through and index one element past the end of the array. Change the check to >= rxq->count so every out-of-range index is rejected. This issue was reported by Claude Mythos.

The advisory is shared at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-98291 since 09/25/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 10/06/2026).

Upgrading to version 6.12.112, 6.18.54, 7.2.8 or 7.3-rc4 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch b5214d72bfdf8ef7744d0c8147e6ebb09b36b259/18464860ce27af0dccd2fc72830610b85b518cff/de4c3c72bcc6e8474f70c22427f94ca44bccd890/2ea5a87a5a7ae58cb2662b8a7d06f209383e1765 is able to eliminate this problem.
