Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in ntharim dot-access up to 1.0.0. Affected is the function get of the file index.js of the component Path Handler. The manipulation of the argument path with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-94. The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
dot-access 0.0.3 through 1.0.0 contains a code injection vulnerability that allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript by supplying crafted paths to get(). The path is concatenated into a new Function body in index.js, so attackers can reach constructor.constructor to load child_process and run operating system commands in the Node.js process.
