Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in nearform fast-jwt up to 6.3.3. This vulnerability affects the function cacheSet of the file src/verifier.js of the component Cache. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a authentication replay vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-294. A capture-replay flaw exists when the design of the product makes it possible for a malicious user to sniff network traffic and bypass authentication by replaying it to the server in question to the same effect as the original message (or with minor changes). As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
fast-jwt provides fast JSON Web Token (JWT) implementation. Prior to 6.3.4, the fast-jwt createVerifier cache can continue accepting a previously valid, signed JWT after its exp time when caching is enabled and the token has exp but no iat. In src/verifier.js, cacheSet derives the exp cache deadline only when iat is present, so the cache falls back to cacheTTL, and a later cache hit returns the saved payload before verifyToken rechecks expiration. An attacker who can replay the same cached bearer token can extend access until the cache entry expires, but cannot forge a token through this issue. This issue is fixed in version 6.3.4.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-107719 since 10/08/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1040 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
Upgrading to version 6.3.4 eliminates this vulnerability.
