Details
A vulnerability has been found in Red Hat Certification Program for Enterprise Linux 9, Edge Manager 1, Enterprise Linux 10, Enterprise Linux 8, Enterprise Linux 9, gvproxy, Hardened Images, OpenShift Container Platform 4, OpenShift Dev Spaces and OpenStack Platform 18.0 and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block of the file /services/forwarder/expose. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
A path traversal vulnerability was found in gvproxy, the network forwarder provided by the gvisor-tap-vsock package. The unauthenticated /services/forwarder/expose endpoint does not validate the caller-supplied socket path, allowing an attacker to delete arbitrary files on the host system.
The advisory is shared at access.redhat.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-107935 since 10/09/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
