Details
A vulnerability was found in MariaDB Server up to 13.0.1. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component CONNECT engine. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a stack-based overflow vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-121. A stack-based buffer overflow condition is a condition where the buffer being overwritten is allocated on the stack (i.e., is a local variable or, rarely, a parameter to a function). As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
MariaDB server is a community developed fork of MySQL server. From 10.6.1 until 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2, the CONNECT engine's DOS table type used an incorrect boundary check that permitted a one-byte null write beyond a stack buffer at an attacker-controlled offset. An authenticated user able to use the CONNECT engine could cause a crash and potentially remote code execution. This issue is fixed in versions 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-107815 since 10/08/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
Upgrading to version 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3 or 13.0.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
