Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Adobe Flash Basic/Professional (Multimedia Player Software). Affected by this issue is an unknown function. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-94. The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Multiple unspecified vulnerabilities in FLA file parsing in Adobe Flash CS3 Professional, Flash Professional 8, and Flash Basic 8 on Windows allow user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted .FLA file.
The bug was discovered 03/19/2008. The weakness was released 03/24/2008 by cocoruder with Fortinet Security Research Team (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-1201 since 03/07/2008. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
