Details
A vulnerability was found in SiYuan-Note SiYuan up to 3.8.5. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function File of the component Kernel Plugin HTTP Server. The manipulation of the argument Path with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
SiYuan v3.7.0 before v3.8.6 contains an absolute path traversal vulnerability in the kernel's private plugin HTTP server, which passes a kernel plugin handler's ResponseFile.Path to gin's Context.File without validation. Attackers supplying a malicious kernel plugin can return an absolute path to read any file readable by the SiYuan process, including the API token and conf.json.
