Details
A vulnerability was found in NetEase Cloud Music 3.1.38/3.1.39.205426. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function os.navigateExternal of the file cloudmusic.exe of the component Renderer-Process IPC Bridge. The manipulation of the argument url with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
NetEase Cloud Music client for Windows (cloudmusic.exe) versions 3.1.38 and 3.1.39.205426 contains a remote code execution vulnerability in the renderer-process IPC bridge os.navigateExternal, which passes caller-supplied URLs to ShellExecuteW without validating the URL scheme. An attacker able to inject content into the renderer, such as by forging the /pc/upgrade/get API response using a publicly known AES key over an unvalidated TLS connection, can invoke os.navigateExternal with a file:// URL through an img onerror payload to execute arbitrary local binaries under the logged-in user's account.
