CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in 0xJacky Nginx UI up to 2.4.0 and classified as critical. This issue affects the function config.ValidateConfigDirectives of the component Config Validation. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the properties that are required to process the data safely and correctly. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

Nginx UI is a web user interface for the Nginx web server. Prior to 2.4.1, config.ValidateConfigDirectives splits configuration by newline and checks only the first directive token on each line even though Nginx permits multiple semicolon-separated directives on one line. An authenticated caller can place a benign directive first and a restricted load_module, js_import, perl, or user root directive later on the same line, or can use an unrestricted include directive to load restricted content. These mechanisms bypass validation on REST, nginx_config_modify, site, and stream write paths; when an executable module is available, the injected configuration can execute code in the Nginx worker context. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.1.

The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-84316 since 09/01/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
