Details
A vulnerability was found in PowerScripts PowerBook 1.21. It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown code block. The manipulation of the argument page with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in pb_inc/admincenter/index.php in PowerScripts PowerBook 1.21 allows remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) in the page parameter. NOTE: in some environments, this can be leveraged for remote file inclusion by using a UNC share pathname or an ftp, ftps, or ssh2.sftp URL.
