Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Wazuh up to 4.14.7. Affected is the function get_lists/delete_list_file of the file rbac.db of the component Cluster. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Wazuh from 4.1.1 before 4.14.8 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the get_lists() and delete_list_file() CDB list handlers that allows compromised cluster workers to read or delete master files. Attackers can send traversal or absolute-path filenames through the internal cluster RPC path, bypassing REST validation and RBAC to delete files like rbac.db.
