The Macrovision InstallShield InstallScript One-Click Install (OCI) ActiveX control 12.0 before SP2 does not validate the DLL files that are named as parameters to the control, which allows remote attackers to download arbitrary library code onto a client machine.
The bug was discovered 03/31/2008. The weakness was disclosed 04/03/2008 (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-5661 since 10/23/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
