The ActiveDataInfo.LaunchProcess method in the SymAData.ActiveDataInfo.1 ActiveX control 2.7.0.1 in SYMADATA.DLL in multiple Symantec Norton products including Norton 360 1.0, AntiVirus 2006 through 2008, Internet Security 2006 through 2008, and System Works 2006 through 2008, does not properly determine the location of the AutoFix Tool, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a remote (1) WebDAV or (2) SMB share.

The bug was discovered 04/02/2008. The weakness was released 04/08/2008 with iDEFENSE (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-0313 since 01/16/2008. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 08/08/2019).
