A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel 2.6.21 Rc4 (Operating System). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function hrtimer_forward of the file hrtimer.c. Integer overflow in the hrtimer_forward function (hrtimer.c) in Linux kernel 2.6.21-rc4, when running on 64-bit systems, allows local users to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via a timer with a large expiry value, which causes the timer to always be expired.
The bug was discovered 03/16/2008. The weakness was published 04/12/2008 (Website). The advisory is available at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-6712 since 04/12/2008.
