CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

It is recommended to upgrade the affected component.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Linux Kernel up to 7.3-rc3. Affected is the function k3_udma_glue_release_rx_flow of the file k3-udma-glue.c of the component dmaengine. The manipulation of the argument flows with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. This is going to have an impact on availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: ti: k3-udma-glue: fix NULL dereference in k3_udma_glue_release_rx_chn() If devm_kcalloc() for rx_chn->flows fails in a channel request function, the error path calls k3_udma_glue_release_rx_chn(), which dereferences the NULL rx_chn->flows pointer in k3_udma_glue_release_rx_flow(). Skip the flow release loop in k3_udma_glue_release_rx_chn() when rx_chn->flows is not allocated. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-98416 since 09/25/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 10/14/2026).

Upgrading to version 5.10.271, 5.15.222, 6.1.189, 6.6.158, 6.12.112, 6.18.54, 7.2.8 or 7.3-rc4 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch b51ed7885ab0e8ecad765adc13b465cb1498cdc9/b2985956e06632939bee47cee13bccd78ad7c3a1/967612574c542dec71f820a6eb16dea80dd187a1/89f5414660724bb562db4ac74665da16d4a57d99/5a6cb4d387eebf7d32a6ed3fcd39f94bf38bd134/b14e6c52872556de2d6c137531e0ce85085c10ed/5b2d92b7b177226e1dca2e80dc8369131276c2a4 is able to eliminate this problem. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
