A vulnerability was found in Cisco Secure ACS up to 3.1.1 on Windows. It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown function of the component Admin. Buffer overflow in the administration service (CSAdmin) for Cisco Secure ACS before 3.1.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via a long user parameter to port 2002.
The weakness was disclosed 04/23/2003 by Yang Yu with NSFOCUS Security Team (Website). The advisory is available at cisco.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2003-0210 since 04/15/2003. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at cisco.com.It is possible to mitigate the weakness by firewalling . The best possible mitigation is suggested to be applying a restrictive firewalling. Attack attempts may be identified with Snort ID 1250. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 3749.
