Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in NASA F Prime up to 4.2.x. This affects the function Svc::EventManager loqQueue_internalInterfaceHandler of the component EventManager. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a denial of service vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-404. The product does not release or incorrectly releases a resource before it is made available for re-use. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:
F´ (F Prime) is a framework that enables development and deployment of spaceflight and other embedded software applications. Prior to 4.3.0, Svc::EventManager loqQueue_internalInterfaceHandler packetization is vulnerable because EventManager accepts up to the framework LogBuffer maximum, but packet descriptor, event identifier, and time-tag metadata consume part of the larger ComBuffer and leave a smaller remaining budget for log arguments; serialization failure then reaches an assertion. When a deployment bridges events through GenericHub into EventManager and forwards a legal Fw::LogBuffer larger than EventManager remaining log-argument budget, under standard F Prime assertion handling, a legal bridged event payload aborts or resets the process, causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 4.3.0.
It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-92156 since 09/15/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
