Details
A vulnerability was found in libsidplayfp up to 3.1.1. It has been classified as critical. This affects the function resolveAddrs of the component RSID file Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a out-of-bounds vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-125. The product reads data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
libsidplayfp through 3.1.1 contains a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability that allows attackers to crash applications by supplying a PSID/RSID file with an unchecked data offset. Attackers can set the header data offset beyond the file size, wrapping the length calculation so resolveAddrs() reads up to 64 KiB past the heap buffer.
