A vulnerability was found in PHP-Fusion 6.00.307/6.01.14 (Content Management System). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown part of the file submit.php. The manipulation of the argument submit_info[] with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
SQL injection vulnerability in submit.php in PHP-Fusion 6.01.14 and 6.00.307, when magic_quotes_gpc is disabled and the database table prefix is known, allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the submit_info[] parameter in a link submission action. NOTE: it was later reported that 7.00.2 is also affected.
The weakness was released 12/24/2008 (Website). The advisory is shared at milw0rm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-1918 since 04/22/2008. The attack may be initiated remotely. A simple authentication is necessary for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed in Python and been published immediately after the advisory. The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as highly functional. By approaching the search of inurl:submit.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
