Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in asadkn Debloat Plugin up to 1.3.0. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Optimize CSS feature. The manipulation of the argument s with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
The Debloat – Remove Unused CSS, Optimize JS plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.0 via the 's' parameter parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. Exploitation requires that the site administrator has enabled the Optimize CSS feature (with the default Inline Google Fonts option active), but once that condition is met the attack is trivially triggered by an unauthenticated visitor with a single crafted GET request to the public search URL.
The advisory is shared at wordfence.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-104769 since 10/02/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
