Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in wpmudev Forminator Forms Plugin up to 1.58.1. Affected by this issue is the function do_shortcode of the component Shortcode Execution. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-94. The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

The The Forminator Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary shortcode execution in all versions up to, and including, 1.58.1. This is due to the software allowing users to execute an action that does not properly validate a value before running do_shortcode. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes. This is exploitable on any block-theme install via a single unauthenticated GET request to the search results page, or by submitting an anonymous comment on any post with comments enabled; no Forminator-specific content or configuration is required to trigger execution.

The advisory is available at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-103911 since 10/01/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
