Text::CSV_XS up to 1.64 CSV combine qty csv injection

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Text::CSV_XS up to 1.64. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function combine of the component CSV. The manipulation of the argument qty with an unknown input leads to a csv injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-1236. The product saves user-provided information into a Comma-Separated Value (CSV) file, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could be interpreted as a command when the file is opened by a spreadsheet product. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Text::CSV_XS versions before 1.65 for Perl allow record splitting by writing strings used as numbers without quotes in combine. combine and print do not check whether a field needs quotes when its value has Perl's integer or numeric flag set. Perl sets these flags on a string used in a numeric operation when it parses as a number, which allows leading and trailing whitespace. With binary set, as csv does by default, "12\n" passes a check such as $qty > 0 and is then written unquoted with its newline. A value validated as a number can end the record early and turn the fields after it into a separate row.

The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-110757 since 10/14/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.

Upgrading to version 1.65 eliminates this vulnerability.
