Rising Antivirus 2008 before 20.38.20 allows local users to cause a denial of service (system crash) via an invalid pointer to the _CLIENT_ID structure in a call to the NtOpenProcess hooked System Service Descriptor Table (SSDT) function.

The weakness was released 04/29/2008 by Core Security with CORE Security Technologies (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2008-1738 since 04/11/2008. The exploitability is told to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack.
