CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.12.112/6.18.55/7.2.9/7.3-rc5 and classified as very critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function pmic_glink_ucsi_remove of the component ucsi_glink. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-416. Referencing memory after it has been freed can cause a program to crash, use unexpected values, or execute code. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: ucsi: glink: fix use-after-free of ucsi on remove The pmic_glink client is released by the devres cleanup, which runs after pmic_glink_ucsi_remove() has returned, so its notification callbacks can queue work until then. Work that runs after ucsi_unregister() has been called touches freed state: it dereferences the connector array that ucsi_unregister() freed, or registers and unregisters the instance a second time. Disable both work items with disable_work_sync() before unregistering, and unregister only if the instance is still registered. This issue was found by an in-house static analysis tool.

The advisory is shared at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-98758 since 09/25/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 10/18/2026).

Upgrading to version 6.12.113, 6.18.56, 7.2.10 or 7.3-rc6 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 432b58cd959e594909a581b4974396cdbc9d4ca1/41934f92e7a54d4080ac0b17aacc83224946785c/ee8577de01c6b6c7dd1d76b52242c54d37a989f4/63b269ec537dc0fd26d0bd64872c26860d108c9d is able to eliminate this problem. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
