A vulnerability was found in miniBB 2.2a and classified as problematic. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the file bb_admin.php. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in bb_admin.php in miniBB 2.2a allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the whatus parameter in a searchusers2 action. NOTE: it was later reported that other versions before 3.0.1 are also vulnerable.
The weakness was presented 05/02/2008 with Application Security (Website). The advisory is shared at mavitunasecurity.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-2066 since 05/02/2008. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
