Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in TYPO3 File manager Extension up to 3.1.2. Affected is an unknown functionality of the component File Search. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The file search of the extension builds its database conditions by wrapping the search term in quotes itself. Only the wildcard characters of the LIKE operator are escaped, quote characters are not. A crafted search term can therefore leave the intended string value and change the database query. This allows an attacker to read data from the database. The issue affects every searched field.
The advisory is shared for download at typo3.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-112238 since 10/19/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
