Details
A vulnerability was found in TYPO3 sgalinski Cookie Consent Plugin up to 7.4.5/8.1.11. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Consent History Review Module. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a weak password hash vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-916. The product generates a hash for a password, but it uses a scheme that does not provide a sufficient level of computational effort that would make password cracking attacks infeasible or expensive. Impacted is confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
The backend module for reviewing the consent history accepted sorting, grouping and index options from the request and used them in a database query without validation. Only the filter conditions of that query were bound as parameters. A backend user with access to the history or statistics functions could use this to read arbitrary data from the database, including password hashes of backend and frontend users.
