Detailsinfo

A vulnerability has been found in ApostropheCMS Apostrophe up to 3.6.9 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Import-Export Module. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a permission vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-275. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. CVE summarizes:

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 3.7.0 of the import-export module, an authenticated user with import access to a target type can supply an object or operator as an update-key value, causing the import query to match an unidentified existing document that the user has generic edit permission to modify. The normal findForEditing permission filter still limits the candidate documents, so the issue does not permit permission-free overwrite of arbitrary protected content. This issue is fixed in version 3.7.0.

The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-113662 since 10/20/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1222.

Upgrading to version 3.7.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
