Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in triggerdotdev Trigger.dev up to 4.4.x. This affects the function Action Handler. The manipulation of the argument friendlyId with an unknown input leads to a authentication replay vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-294. A capture-replay flaw exists when the design of the product makes it possible for a malicious user to sniff network traffic and bypass authentication by replaying it to the server in question to the same effect as the original message (or with minor changes). This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Trigger.dev before 4.5.0 performs no authentication or organization check in the action handler of the dashboard run replay route (resources.taskruns.$runParam.replay) and looks up the run by friendlyId alone. A remote attacker who knows a victim's run friendlyId can replay it into an environment of their choosing, exposing the victim's task payload or running the task again with the victim's secrets.
