Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in HKUDS Vibe-Trading up to 0.1.6. Affected is the function read_document of the component LLM Agent File Read. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
HKUDS Vibe-Trading from 0.1.0 before 0.1.7 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows remote attackers to read sensitive server files through LLM agent file-read tools. Attackers can prompt the agent to invoke read_document, which lacks sandbox checks, or safe_user_path-gated tools to leak /etc/shadow, /proc/self/environ API keys, and /root credentials.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-114106 since 10/20/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy.
