Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in crawlseo up to 0.2.3. This vulnerability affects the function isPrivateIp of the component Crawler Engine. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
crawlseo before version 0.2.4 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in its crawler engine where isPrivateIp() fails to block reserved IP ranges such as RFC 6598 Carrier-Grade NAT, RFC 6890, TEST-NET ranges and certain IPv6 addresses, and additionally fails to pin the validated address for the actual outbound connection, allowing a TOCTOU DNS rebinding bypass. An authenticated attacker can add a malicious domain that resolves to an internal or restricted address, trigger a crawl to reach internal services or cloud metadata endpoints like 169.254.169.254, and retrieve the fetched page's title, description, headings, status code and links through the crawl results API, enabling internal network reconnaissance.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-115411 since 10/22/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
Upgrading to version 0.2.4 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 76e4e693de0c6b294cf1f60656800e47346f1c28 is able to eliminate this problem. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
