Details
A vulnerability classified as very critical has been found in MongoDB C# Driver up to 3.12.x. This affects some unknown functionality of the component LINQ Query Processing. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a neutralization vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-707. The product does not ensure or incorrectly ensures that structured messages or data are well-formed and that certain security properties are met before being read from an upstream component or sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
The MongoDB C# Driver does not neutralize dot and dollar characters in dictionary keys, field names and array-filter identifiers used in LINQ queries before placing them into the field paths it sends to the server. An application user whose input reaches these positions can redirect a query or update to fields the application did not name, which can expose other users' documents and widen updates beyond the intended data. Certain values can also write malformed fields that leave stored documents unreadable by the application until they are repaired.
The advisory is shared at jira.mongodb.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-114648 since 10/21/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
