A vulnerability was found in Linksys WRT54GC 1.02.5/1.02.8/1.05.7 (Router Operating System). It has been rated as critical. Buffer overflow in the web-based management interface on the Cisco Linksys WRT54GC router with firmware before 1.06.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (device crash) via a long string in a POST request.
The weakness was released 01/21/2011 by Yuji Ukai with Fourteenforty Research Institute (Website). The advisory is shared for download at fourteenforty.jp. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-0352 since 01/07/2011. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
