CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.6.159/6.12.112/6.18.56/7.2.10 and classified as very critical. This issue affects the function vc4_bo_cache_destroy of the file drm/vc4 of the component vc4. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-401. The product does not sufficiently track and release allocated memory after it has been used, which slowly consumes remaining memory. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vc4: Free the BO cache size list on teardown vc4_bo_cache_destroy() purges the cached BOs but never frees the size list, leaking it on every unbind.

The advisory is shared at git.kernel.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-98970 since 09/25/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 10/23/2026).

Upgrading to version 6.6.160, 6.12.113, 6.18.57 or 7.2.11 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch bf2848e50bd73782c2942ec023b5b60231f16e9b/035ad1bc964f6698e9b06c26ffe94bcac08dadea/bea10b84e22efa22b005e8dba1a19df4e04a7649/40870a0290cd913c9d94f98ed87ebe00dd091e53/b41ff8b529278216cba22a5dcdc93fea2a3a9619 is able to eliminate this problem.
